So there are only 2 roosters in my flock, one of them is my favorite chicken (all of them are my favorites) and my parents keep threatening they will give it away! We live in a place where neighbors live close and we have very little land. My parents CLAIM that the no crow collar isnt working but im not sure about that, any good benefits to keeping a rooster?

Listen to your parents. They know best.

Work with them, see if you can find a good home for the roosters. Put up flyers and ask people if they know anybody that wants a rooster as a pet. You might be able to avoid them ending up as stew that way.

You must understand that your parents have the right to live peacefully in their home, and you have to respect their opinion about the disturbance the roosters is making, even if you don't think the same. You can agree to give up on your 2 rooster, but you can ask for another 3 hens as a replacement ! I think it is a fair deal!

I would want to avoid situation where rooster is being restrained to prevent behaviors he has little if any control over such as crowing. Find a home for the rooster(s). Then start getting ball rolling so when you move out you can get your own home in location with resources needed to keep roosters.

Does you city/town allow roosters? Even though I live on 10 acres, our township doesn't allow roosters. Have your neighbors complained?

Are your roosters still young? If you have a small flock, two roosters are too many.

As much as it is a bummer one has to consider the neighbors.
Your parents are heading off a problem before it gets bad. No one wants the neighbors calling the law on the pets. I agree with your parents. The guys need to go.

Our local feed stores have bulletin boards where people can put fliers up. I see roosters needing homes on there and sometimes people looking for a rooster for their flock.
Maybe your stores have boards like this. It is worth a try.

I am sorry but there are rules everywhere about noisy critters. It is better to find homes for them before the law gets involved and you get told to get rid of all the birds.
