Hiya!

I'm brand new to chickens. We bought our first home and while other people may go and reno and paint, I decided a batch of fertilized eggs would be the perfect way to start our new life.
6 hatched into beautiful chooks full of life and character! These 6 are a month old as of yesterday!
My bunch are all partridge chantecler, which I chose given their winter hardiness and gorgeous plumage, also, it helped having a breeder in the next town. I'm raising them for eggs and also as pals, they offer a lot of personality and chicken TV is my favourite morning show!
So far it has been the wonder of these little nuggets growing and learning. Their cheekiness is just the best!
I'm an environmental scientist, avid food gardener, brewer of damn good beer, hiker, biker, and wanderer. My husband and I share a home with our fuzzbutt cat, our short hair St Bernard, and a sweetie lab rat rescue.
I've known about byc for ages, checking in for tips and ideas before and during the incubation process. Joining now for more breed specific info and maybe to get a better understanding on this new venture into all things chook.
Nice to meetcha.
