Partridge Olive Eggers

She’s so pretty!! I don’t know how dominate feathered feet are 🤔 I have read not all Marans have feathered feet but all the ones I’ve seen so far do have feathered feet.
That would be interesting to know. Because only one of my little Olive eggers babies has feathered feet and the other two are blue/black coloring with no feathers. So does that mean they do not have Maran in them? I have another blue production hen with copper leakage around her neck. She lays a little bit lighter egg but is also so beautiful. I’m getting very curious about genetics. I might have to hatch my own babies next spring. 🤗 here’s copper and another one of my darker egg layer Smokey girl, with the Black around her neck. We call her stormy. They’re my two blue hens as of now. Can’t wait to see the new babies develop. Oh and I have an 8 week old blue Wyandotte. She’s turning out really pretty.

The one with the copper coloring is so neat looking. Looks a little like a blue copper Maran.

It seems to me, according to this article, feathered feet genetics is dominate, so if a chicken doesn’t have both genes for feathered feet, and it mates with a chicken without feathered feet, not all chicks would have feathered feet.

Would love to see the color eggs your girls ended up laying, @Emmylem11.
Someone just gave me a Partridge Olive Egger today as they could not keep her. 10 week old Welsummer/Cream leg bar variety.😊
