Partridge Silkie

Hi everyone! I normally wouldn’t ask this early but I heard Partridge is like the only color that can be used to sex silkies. This is Kiwi. Kiwi is only about five weeks old, but I don’t see black on its chest so I’m leaning girl? Maybe?

I think it is probably a female but the comb seems big. Sometimes the black chest feathers come in later. I think it is a case of 'wait and see.'

That’s what I figured!! I mostly deal with Seramas, and you can tell with those guys after only a few weeks. The anticipation is killing me with Kiwi!

Either way will be fine, just trying to figure out if it’ll go in with the girls or in with the bachelors!

Silkies are difficult to tell for a lot of reasons. You could send in a sample to a lab if you're impatient to know. Lots of people do that now.
