Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

Pics
To be quite honest, I don't know that much about them, but if they are a hatchery I wouldn't expect the best quality. Hatcheries tend to throw any quality birds together. The name might tell it all. If you plan on showing, breeders are the only way to go. If you are getting birds to be pets - not a thing wrong with them. They make lovely pets that you can shower all of the love in the world on and look absolutely adorable running around your yard.

So, is BatCave going to show us any pictures of Spartacus junior(s)? I would love to see them.

A cool place in the basement. I just let them sit out on the counter top or table and have never had a problem.

Pennie your birds have grown so much jsut since you sent me those last pics!
So cute!!!

batcave, LOVE your breeders!!

Love all the pictures! We do raise partridge but they are too gold in my opinion. I have one roo that is headed in the right direction. I was convinced it was a hen until it looked right at me and crowed. Natasha is now Nikolai. That's the first silkie that totally had me fooled. Now I need some good girls. Hey, Bat Cave... I'm not far from you! If you sell chicks, let me know!

Yep, this year almost that whole batch of boys surprised me. Except for that real red one and of course the Watson Brothers. The rest didn't show their "true colors" until the last couple of weeks. They still look like little girls to me - type wise. Send some pictures, we would love to see them.

Huckleberry Farms... Where are the pictures of your too gold partridge? By the way I love your website (especially the Silkie page).

Okay all here are some of my partridge babies....got some questions...

What color is the little one really? LOL I mean should partridge babies be this dark?

And a question for you...back on page 1 or 2 are pics of my partridge trio...Leo, Jet and Pamela they granted me a solid white baby....I understand that recessive white genes can cause a white chick but what will it give me later in breeding if I chose to breed the white baby

Okay, question #1. Looks definitely partridge to me. I like mine very dark and they will continue to change as they age.
Okay, question #2. This is more of a Sonoran thing, but I am going to take a wild stab and say if you breed to partridge you will get partridge. At least most, if not all of the babies will be partridge. If it's a good line, I would not hesitate to breed back to a partridge.
The second baby looks very light. Does it have a white belly? I would have to say that the first chick looks more partridge even though they both have the penciling on their wings.
