@Phaedre - Cochin are pretty thickly furred but for fluffiness the Silkie does seem to have them all beat!

I like your name! We named our Blue Breda "Phaedra" and she was my DH's favorite -- pretty, smart, funny, pesty-friendly, outgoing, non-combative, unafraid, curious, and so many other wonderful descriptors for that beloved bird:












Our favorite pic of Phaedra was when she was straddling the veggie pot to forage for weed sprouts while the other birds just foraged on the ground.

Roo Pooh is just his name - though rooster poop is funny. Roo for Rooster, Pooh because he was like a teddy bear as a chick.

It could be. White is recessive and mom may be partridge underneath. Dad could have been from a blue rooster over a partridge hen to get his coloring. I have one partridge hen that produces white background chipmunk chicks.

Silkies carry recessive white, so that's all you should get breeding two whites together. One copy will hide under other colors
