First two chicks that I can positively tell sex on. 6 weeks old. Male on left. Female on right. They were almost identical as babies. The male will feather in darker later. The females don't seem to change much.
Grit magazine is looking for photographs of your flock for our 2017 GRIT's Guide to Backyard Chickens. Please email your high-resolution color photo to [email protected], and include your name, address and phone number.
I`ve seen some great photos on here so I encourage you all to give this a try....My photos have made it in Grit twice and in Capper`s Farm once. If your photo is used they will send you two free issues and a check for $25.
I've raised enough that I know what the clues are in my line. The boy has bigger wattles and comb that are mulberry and the crest has been slower coming in. The girl's color gave her away almost two weeks ago as my boys never look like that. She'll look the same as an adult.
I have two others Im not sure on yet so I assume they are boys until they show otherwise.
Different lines are different so your mileage may vary
