Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

She is about 6 months old and I had hatched some eggs I had purchased and I also threw a couple of my own in at the time. I am thinking she came from one of mine because she has really nice foot feathering. My purchased eggs have nicer topknots but less foot feathering. If she did indeed come from mine then her mom is definitely a partridge and dad could have been a buff, gray or a black with some white in him. She kind of has like a light brown coloring but in the pic it made her look more red but she isn't quite that red.

Pennie...those little partridge are so darn cute!!! Imagine what they will look like if a few months!!! They will be drop dead gorgeous!!!

I can't believe they are only 5-7 weeks!!!

Then my guess her daddy was the buff or grey?

Yeah, maybe the buff??? SHe is a cute little girl. Very tiny and a good mom for being so young! She hatched out 7 chicks and I was worried she wouldn't do so well being that young. She just turned 6 months old the day she hatched them but she is an excellent mom!!! One of the better ones so far!!!

I think she's quite pretty. I envy all of the people with broody hens. I finally got 1 and then a few days later my other one decided to go broody. I love them. The only problem is I am done hatching. I have about 18 eggs in the bator and that's it. I took 6 eggs out and and put 4 under the first one and 2 under the second just so they have something. If they hatch they hatch, if not I'll let them hatch out some standard size eggs.

I think that would be something to see.

Be careful what you wish for!!! It seems when one starts going broody it just never stops from there! LOL I still have 8 broody right now!! I had to buy more covered kitty litter pans and cages. I don't know why but my girls love the covered kitty litter pans. Oh my girls have hatched NN and silkie cross eggs!! They did a good job too!

My 2 girls are sharing a cage that I had built in the coop. It's in a quiet dark corner and they are just content as can be. They are just SO CUTE!! And it gives me a chance to get the coop more organized for all of these da^% birds that I have now. I really need to sell some of these guys. I simply do not have the room. If my mentor gets upset because I might be selling next years champion - oh well. I can't keep them - as much as I would love to.

Proud Partridge silkie owner here! My two look totally different though. Any pointers on being able to tell if they are hens or roos?
