Partridge Silkies - Nothing else

I am not a breeder ,just have some pets & trying to learn from all you experts . But I am curious to know how to determine whether or not a chick is a true partridge. Is it a color that just appears with correct genetic combination & then breeders work to reproduce it, or does correct partridge color just appear from partridge intense breeding? My concern is when I do decide to purchase breeding stock, must both parents be of partridge color, lineage ?
Thanks !

This chick did not have chipmonk markings either (the egg was marked partridge). It was just shades of gold and brown. Now it looks blue and buff. It's five weeks old in this picture. Is it a partridge?

He looks a little more like a partridge, but can't be sure. He could just be buff with a lot of what they call smut. That's just a term used for mixed color. He looks more partridge than the others though.

Could it be blue partridge?

What to see how it matures. Since there is no standard for blue partridge anything is possible, but they should have started out with the chipmunk stripes. It could turn out to be absolutely gorgeous.. And they are Silkies so you will love it no matter what.

It's always best to have partridge parents, but they can show up anywhere that there is any partridge in the background. I know that I use blacks with gold leakage on the neck to improve the dark underfluff and chests. So, technically there has to be partridge genetics in there and the more the better. There is a lady on here, Suze from Sonoran Silkies that can answer genetics questions completely.

I got these shots this AM without using my flash so the color is more accurate. The crest is coming in real dark and there is lots of penciling. 6 weeks old tomorrow.

Boy, that's anybodies guess without knowing a little bit on the background. That is a very interesting colored Silkie. He's definitely not to standard on color, but is really truly COOL looking. I keep going back to look at him. He is completely off colored but amazing!!! I love him. He's almost more salmon than partridge.

A little partridge boy maybe. It's so hard to get the actual pencilling on film. But he is definitely more partrdige than the others. He has that rainbow effect (just something that I made up) where there are like circles of colors that go all the way around his body. Lets see if as he matures he starts getting a dark chest. His under fluff is supposed to be dark for a regular partridge and blue for a blue partridge. But they are supposed to be dark chested. BUT that may not happen until he molts a few times.
