Oh goodness!!!! LOL. How cute is that little cutie. As for what it is - I don't have a clue, but I'm sure there are others that may know better.

Someone from Europe says that in partridge eyelines can be indicative of sex. I wonder if this could be true here in the US. I am going to start documenting it in my next season's chicks and see if it holds any truth to it at all.

I however am very skeptical

but it will be fun to atleast test it out!

Sorry for blurry pic's but, I band my babies from wk 2 on and color code also. These two are a perfect example of partridges I've been breeding for years and if you look closely at the male you can see his wing feathering tell more than the eyeliner experience.

I'm not saying this is not true over the pond but, I know here in the US I do not find it to be true

Beth G. :

I do believe it is inacurate only b/c I have this to show for it from last year:

I'm glad you posted this as I was wondering the same thing. I checked out the photos of my five parti chicks from last year and the eye line thing was accurate on all of them.

Thanks, I'm not saying it is not acurate at all. It just may very well be based on genetics more than anything.

Thanks for the compliment on Tater. He was good looking as a baby just as he was all grown up

I'm getting two blue partridge chicks next week and I'm actually hoping one is a boy.

They both have the eye line.
