Partridge to barred rock

I love the whole color genetics thing. I can't stay away from the threads regardless of breed or color.

I've discovered what it mostly means is I end up with more chickens... which makes me laugh. I like seeing little puffy color-facts aka chicks, running around.

The incubator is here and I'm being obsessive. I don't get eggs til after the sixth but I'm dinking with the incubator, water levels and accuracy of my thermometers and hygrometer now. Rather play now than guess then.

Now we wait for more info from the color gurus

I sometimes want to be demented (even more so than normal) and try to create a really weird chicken. I have some Houdans, womdering what I can cross them on and get something more odd looking......
I crossed a Black Cochin hen on a Buff Orp and got "Orchins" (hubby's name for them)
They are nice looking birds but have gold/buff heads and black bodies, feathered feet and poofy tails.
