I have a 2 year old brahma bantam hen who I had to assist with a broken soft shelled egg 2 days ago. I first noticed her looking down Friday night, then Saturday morning she was passing egg whites. I checked her vent with a gloved finger and immediately a lot of yolk and a couple pieces of soft shell came out. Did all the recommended egg bound treatment: epsom bath, calcium tablet, massage. She's been on expired enrofloxacin since Saturday ( all I have on hand) and has shown little improvement. She is still eating and drinking but tail down and lethargic. This morning she found some maggots (gross but her favorite snack) and ate a lot of them. Just now when I checked on her I found some undigested maggots in her poop which is still watery. Please if anyone has any advice on what I can do for her I would appreciate it so much. There are not many avian vets around, those we have are booked weeks in advance. We have 1 emergency pet clinic that doesn't have a bird specialist and they are very expensive. Please help
