Just wondering once I strained and put in frig can I still take it out and pasteurize it?

Also can this milk hurt other animals that I feed it too if mom of milk ate some bad weeds or something? Sometimes weed make milk taste funny too does that matter to the other animals I feed it too? Puppies and pigs? Do I need to pasteurize it for them or not?

Thank you!

I have read that if you pasteurize your own milk and do it wrong it can cause worse illness and make you really sick. Also is this cow or goat milk? Other species of animals can't handle cow milk but can handle goat milk

Goat milk and actually giving it to my puppies.

Why would you pasteurize it? That defeats the whole purpose of raw milk?
I am worried that I recently changed where the goats are staying to a different pen. They ate all those weeds and milk seems to taste funny to me but I never tasted it before so just worried that maybe could hurt the puppies.

Pasteurizing won't change flavor, just kill bacteria and most of the good stuff in it. You CAN pasteurize milk any time, I forget the temp to heat it to but you can find it online. I really doubt the puppies will mind, and they'll benefit from the raw milk a lot more than dead milk.

Ok thats what I thought but just wanted to make sure...they could not get sick or something from a bad weed momma goats ate.

The puppies have been getting it for a while now but just moved the momma goats so wondering....cause I know they ate some new weeds in the new pen. Like I said I never tasted the milk before in the other pen so I would not know if a difference...I just did not like the taste when I tasted it.

Thank you!
