Using your first example of 100 x 100... if you make a lane along the front 100 x 8 feet= 800 sq ft. of sacrificial pen ( instead of 2325 sq. ft.) with your coop anywhere along that lane, then make long pastures of 92 ft long x ? feet wide each with gates, then you have much less pasture pressure time , more efficient use of the forage as well as more control of recovery time therefore more pounds of forage available for the chickens.
