Pasture grass seed

Has anybody tried using pasture grass seed in the run or around the coop? I need to re-seed the area and I'm thinking pasture seed might be more hardy and better able to stand up to all the chicken poop.

I seeded mine, but in a small time they will have it beat down. Good news if you take them out for a while it will come back. Ideal way to do it would be to split up run and rotate one side then the other.

I understand that the run will probably never grow in great. It's the area around the coop that I'm more concerned about. They run through there a lot but don't really hang out in the area. In other words, it's not particularly dense with chicken poo, but it does get a fair amount. lol That's why I thought the pasture seed might work. What kind of grass seed should I use?

"Pasture" seed is just a mix of different grasses.
It's really nothing special, since the mixtures can be different.

If you want something the chickens can eat plant grains.
Odds are they are going to just kill it all anyway​
