I guess for us, we naturally have a couple unused buildings in our pasture along with our new barn, so three of four of those buildings we tidied up for the hens and roosters. As for fencing and pasture and all - We use simple field fence to keep the livestock in (goats and yaks) and line the bottom with a lot of chicken wire, making sure it is snugly laying a couple inches on the ground so the pesky Wyandottes don't try anything. That way, we don't have predator problems, don't have loose-running birds, and everyone is happily grazing and scratching on 3 acres of land.
