Hi! First time chickie mom. I have this Silkie chick I got on Saturday from TSC. When I got her, she had rock hard pasty butt. As soon as I got home, I cleaned her up with warm water to remove the manure and put some ointment. While her vent looks better today, not so red. The feather around her butt won’t seem to dry. I have used a blow dryer on low setting to wash and dry her but she looks like this. Is this ok? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you

What kind of ointment did you put on her? If it's not drying, I would think it's just residual oil/residue from that. I'm sure she's just fine, just keep an eye out for more pasty butt.

Thank you. It was triple antibiotic ointment. Her little butt was very red at the vent. It is not longer red or swollen and looks like the other littles vents. I will continue to watch her and keep her clean.
