Pasty butt?

I already posted this but still happening. I have 3 polish chicks who seem to be getting pasty butt. I got them from tractor supply. I have soaked their bottoms in warm water and removed the poo but it keeps coming back. 3 days now. How can I prevent it from reoccurring?

How old are they? If they are small chicks they can get that if they are too cold. Are they on heat still? What are they eating?

They are about a week old. I have a red light on half the tub so they can go towards the heat or away from it. They don't huddle to often like they are cold. The lady at tractor supply helped me pick out chick starter when I bought them. Not all the chicks I bought have got it. Just the 3 polish bantams..

The normal things that cause it are either being too cold, too warm, stress, viral, or bacterial. Sometimes food too. Do you have a thermometer in with them? It's worth checking the temperature under and away from the lamp. I've been using a electric hen and found it better for my chicks the last few years. Also doesn't heat the whole box too much which a lamp can do.
Make sure you clean them up regularly as it can kill them if left to block. Make sure it's warm water and a warm room and they are dried totally. You can use a hairdryer. Then if you put some petroleum jelly on it should stop the poop sticking until the problem stops. You can also add chicken vit and mins to help them. I add it to the water. There other trial is give them scrambled egg. If it stops then you know it's food. I'd definitely check the temp first. I have 2 digital thermometer. One under my heat source the other at the end if the box. Hope this is some help

I Have A thermometer in there. I haven't tried the vasaline or the vitamins. I did just order some probiotics for chicks hoping it will help. I'm soaking their bottoms everyday. It would be nice if the vasaline kept it from sticking until I could figure out the problem.

Probiotics will be good for them. The Vaseline should really help stop it sticking.
