pasty poopy hen butt! HELP!!

So, let me first say that never in my life did I ever imagine I would ever have to do this.. hah
But I gave Dixie a nice warm bath in the house with some dish soap, and then blew her dry before she went back to the coop. She absolutely loved it, purred the whole time (especially the warm blow dryer on her bum). She's nice n' fluffy n' soft again now, it seems the problem's been solved!
Thanks for the help guys!!

For some reason, both of my RIR's seem to have "poop build-up" again. I guess they are just predisposed to getting the poo stuck on them. Both came from the same hatchery and they're probably related. I'm going to have to wash them again soon. Never in a million years would I have pictured myself washing chicken butts - NEVER!

I have no idea how much yer "supposed" to add.. I just did a splash ACV in about 1 cup water. I'm tryin' to get them to at least take a couple good gulps every day. Unfortunately I can't put it in their water dispenser cos it's got a metal base, so I have to set aside special time to coerce them to drink it every day

if you're time's worth more than a nickle an hour --- the money spent on a new, plastic water system (even just a fence bucket!) would be worth it!
Doesn't have to be fancy, just non-metal.
