Patial Impaction - Food not digesting

Hi. Ok I got some coconut oil but it's already 'solid' (not liquid). Its got a consistency a little harder than lard. Like a stick of butter. Can I just feed to her like this? Will it melt in her mouth or crop and do what to needs to do?

Coconut oil is solid like lard at temps 70F and lower. It liquifies at temps over 70F. You got the right stuff, and it should have a nice coconut smell the chickens will love.

The oil will quickly begin to melt into liquid as you handle it since you are nearly 100F. So, chickens being 106F, yes, it will immediately melt in their mouths.

Great thanks! How many times a day can I give her this oil? (I understand I'm still supposed to withhold food until crop is cleared, right?). Just oil and massage.

Please read the article. You still need to grasp that oil needs to be given continuously until the impaction clears. If the impaction is so bad that it won't clear with oil and massage and a stool softener, then crop surgery will be necessary to pull the impacted material out of the crop.
