patruding vent or unabsorbed Yolk??

6 week old welsummer chick is eating but has the fluffy look of a chick with cocci
He has had this look for a few days but has been on medicated chick start and grow from hatch
the rest of the cluctch seem fine
white chaulky residue left on wing tips and his beak
no bleeding or other injury
pine shavings bedding never saw the poop.... and eats fine.....


White yellow ooze all over the belly and around this swollen patruding vent or bulg

help!


Anyone ever seen this before???

That doesnt look good. I have only read about this but OOmphalitis comes to my mind when I see this,. Has this 6 week old chick always been this way? Is he picking himself?

I wish I could help you figure out what it is, but I'm pretty sure that's not cocci! I do, however, hope you have him separated from the rest of your chicks; whatever it is, it looks/sounds contagious!
