Last night watching Paula Deen on Jimmy Kimmel, she was talking about her little flock of rescue chickens. They were used for mosquito testing, their lives consisted of sitting in little buckets with holes in them, hanging from trees so that mosquitoes could bit them. She went on and on about how sweet they were and how people should step up and rescue these poor chickens. I thought it was pretty interesting. She has quite a sense of humor too, she was saying things like: "Can you imagine if these little babies new their momma was the queen of fried chicken??" She said she could never kill and eat one of her own lol. I know how she feels!

I like paula deen, I've seen her go on about her rescue chickens. I'm sad to see her endorse Smithfield

(BTW, I love butter and fried food.. but I can't do sugar or starch so I have to skip most of her recipes)

As for the West Nile thing. I saw some chickens being used for that, but they had pretty decent housing.

I saw her on rachel ray and had wished she had explained a litttle more about it .. I think they are called Sentinel Chickens I searched but didnt see any that were kept in buckets just small wire cages .. But it could depend on state and all that .. I think the idea of keeping them in buckets is just sick .. Especiaaly the sacrifice those birds make for us humans , you would think they would treat them better...
