She is a true southern queen down here and I have a aunt that talks and laughs just like her.

I've just often wondered about it because when she's really hamming it up it gets thicker and thicker but when I've seen her on interviews it's not nearly that thick.

Paula is Southern, so of course she exaggerates. That's part of our culture. We all do it. It makes things more fun and interesting

Her accent is very real, I'm sure, because I know plenty of people who sound just like her. That's how most of my family sounds when we talk. Her food is not always healthy. She knows that and willingly admits it. She jokes about it on the show. We might not always eat healthy in the South, but our food tastes good!

I love when she does things that are seafood or vegetarian since I don't eat most meat. She's a great ambassador for us most of the time.

I'm familiar with the South lol, my natural father and family are in Macon GA. Well before he died that is sorry. I have Southern New Texican accent, 1/3 South 1/3 Texas 1/3 New Mexico!

Paula Deen has a potato salad recipe with red potatoes I love... and its really not all that bad as far as healthy goes. Don't like much else she makes though, not a fan of high sugar, lard and butter in everything.


Neat about the chickens... so glad someone out their rescues the abused. Its one thing to eat them, its another to use them in cruel ways!
