Paving slabbed area for ducks

I've never tried it but love the idea of turf :)
I only have 2 ducks, they have the rest of the garden to free range. They’ve only been up the top in a pen for 2 days they had the whole garden prior to that

this is how it was before we moved them, but they messed something rotten by the back door as they are so used to the house, they just hop in and out the back door quacking at my fridge 😂🤦‍♀️

What a nice little setup you have :)
It doesn't look like you have a place to hose the run off from turf (the edge of your grass will get overloaded pretty quickly). I would go with bark chips and just periodically turn them so they compost down.

I hose out of my back gate at the moment, there’s nothing behind my house, so I pop a little disinfectant out there and hose it all away. I was thinking I could take the turfs up, hang them on the wall And hose them down?
but yes chip bark sounds ok, I didn’t think of that

went with the turf in the end, it seems to be working well so far, 2 confused ducks at first as they tried to eat it 🤦‍♀️
