I am very thankful for the fact that we are "self sustainable" when it comes to all our poultry needs.

This is a prime example of how our world would work far better, if each and every one of use was truly responsible for where our food came from.

Granted, not everyone can do everything, but one can sure work in cooporation with friends and neighbors!
We are close to convincing 1 set of neighbors to get a few chickens, and I plan on working on everyone else this summer.

I saw on our news about a few poultry houses that had collapsed. In one, it was funny/sad- the survivor chickens were roaming around in the sunshine. The ony sunshine they will see. Hopefully they survive the cold.
Another issue is the trucks cant get to the farms to retrieve the chickens. They will definately pass the loss of profit on to the consumer.

I know, I feel for those birds, poorly feathered, no warmth, and I just wish the humans that kept them in that condition could be stripped naked and put out into the snow.
ETA: And I feel so hypocritical because I buy chicken at the store because I can't eat a friend!
