claiming the offer before the person has a chance to spell out what it is.

Lots of time someone will claim something by posting "mine" then go back and edit their post to show their offer.
If you know they usually post something you would like to claim you can "Mine" their offer before they have had time to edit it and post it.

Makes things very confusing and the swap goes really fast when this starts too. Just be sure to go and edit your claim with a post number to help everyone follow along.

would that be just the case for muscovys or would that be for most ducks?

unless the scovies are fat and well fed and all around lazy like ours are. They do bug some, but the khaki flock bugs much more space in a days time

I feel like the muscovies leave less of a mess behind than the non-pato breeds. Plus, there's none of that infernal quacking. I had a flock of SQ rouens, I did so well with them at shows, but I just couldn't deal with the poop-slicks and the quacking, oh the quacking.

Muscovies do a good job of eating bugs around our house, I don't even use a tick preventative on the dogs, and they are such a relaxed duck.
They aren't even a real duck, they're considered a pato, (which is spanish for duck, go figure). they're more closely related to swans, I believe.

My muscovies are constantly looking for bugs, I feed them, but they seem compelled to look for bugs.

I actually saw a muscovy eat a mouse Whole, I couldn't believe it.
