No way!! I couldn't eat a silkie!! Not even the big boy in my run that hubby named Drumstick!!!

I'm sure PC will laugh when he hears that, Quail. His son's nickname is Drumbstick

Yeah, the black chicken looks freaky. Asian people swear it is good for your health. The Chinese were the original breeders of Silkies, so maybe they know something we don't?

uuuggghhh!!! I know it's a mental thing, but I don't think I could eat that...I did hear someplace that the Americans who eat silkies mostly put them in a soup so not to have to look at the black meat...

YES!!!! They made it!!! I was so worried about them since I never shipped eggs
before.

I hope you have a great hatch. We hatched 15 of them yesterday. The membranes
were thick so we helped a few pip through it but other than that all went well.

Those seeds you sent are awesome! I can't wait to plant next spring.

As for the "eating silkie" thing they are just chicken. We ate a few extra roos. They
tasted like chicken.

I am sooooooo not liking yall talking about hatching silkies..... I've still got 5 days to wait until my half a dozen lavender splits start to hatch. I am getting so anxious.

I must say thought that I've gotten this LG 9200 incubator down to a fine art. I can keep my humidity in the 50's all the time, and my temps are holding steady with no variations....

^ complainin about 5 days left eH! I got 9 days left here pitty me!!!! LOL!

Some should be pure silkies others are silkie crosses...i dont care what they are, they're silkie-ish and im happy!

One of these days I hope to add some Lavenders and Reds (silkies) to my mixed flock.
Lavs are beautiful and the closest thing to purple I could find in a bird.

I plugged my 9200 in this morning to hatch some quail. I add 2 water bottles to it to
add mass and stabilize the temps. I'm running a 1 degree variance which is actually
better than my Brinsea has been. I'll monitor it for another day before I pop in the Button
Quail.

We were gonna cull my silver silkie roo on Sunday. He was the one who attacked me
all the time and crowed A LOT. He got a last minute reprieve from Perfectly_Polish
who snuck him into her flock. He lucked out and I was looking forward to cooking him.

Culling a chicken is hard enough. Culling a silkie is, well, hard to describe. They make
this skrieking noise that can drop a full grown man to his knees and if you don't take
off the entire head a new one pops out.

Party, the mom of most of your eggs, is laughing at us stupid humans. We are so
easy to control.
