We have peach trees and they are full of fruit. The girls recently discovered just how easy it is to pick your own and they spend a lot of time around them. They aren't fully ripe yet, but the girls don't seem to mind. Is this ok?? I'm not sure how I'll keep them from doing it, so I sure hope so.

Peaches are fine for chickens as far as I know. My girls have eaten them with no ill effects. Here is a link to a chicken treat chart, and peaches made the list of good treats.

Perfectly fine for them.

I'm jealous of you

Our girls get a buffet of fallen apples, but peaches are rather difficult to grow out here. We're trying though!

I know, right? Never thought I'd be jealous of chickens.... unfortunately Michigan weather right now doesn't allow me fresh peaches!

We have apples, too, but they aren't hanging quite low enough for the girls' liking! The peach trees are so heavy with fruit that some of the branches are almost touching the ground..I know, poor us! I'm sure the ladies think we planted these gems just for them! I knew they were on the treat list as ok, but it what amount??? Can you say "chicken sugar rush!"
