One of my new peachicks died suddenly. Though It had not shown any signs of coccidiosis, I had started it on
a regiment of Corid. On Day #3 of treating it with Corid, I saw the surrogate mama chicken hen walking around the pen
alone. I found the chick dead in the nest. It was almost two weeks old. My first thought was that it died from coccidiosis but
upon examining it I saw a red splotchy area on its throat - almost like blood under the skin - and there was a type of
mucus inside its mouth. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Could it have been caused by the Corid treatment? Or by coccidiosis?
