Peachick Necropsy **WARNING GRAPHIC PICTURES**

You are correct that is not normal and i see dead tissue in the cavity, it looks like some kind of internal damage was done killing the tissue and that dark stuff looks like stale blood IMO.
Is there any way it could fly into anything hard enough to cause this kind of damage or could this bird have been snake bitten?
This bird used to sleep on the ground, not all my birds will sleep on their perch anyway, i can't think of anything he could hit it in their pen, we don't have snakes here btw.

Well i looked up how that is done and it shows that the vaccine is actually put into the eye after it is mixed, you didn't inject this vaccine into the bird did ya?
My vet injects them in the area between their neck and their back, but didn't put anything in their eyes, i hope i understood your question right.

I only found info on spraying ,adding to water and drops in the eyes but the vet went to school for this stuff so he/she would know.

I have looked and looked at your photos over and over and everytime i think the same thing, something caused this area to be damaged, you have healthy pink meat then all of a sudden there is an area that looks like dead or dieing tissue

How long after the bird passed did you do this necropsy ?

I agree. To me it is strange that the intestines would be that nasty looking, yet 1/2 of the liver looks nearly healthy. I am really worried about all of the rest of the peacocks now. Othman, what kinds of wormers have been used on your peacocks? How often were they wormed?
