Hello all!
I will be posting this thread under both the "Peafowl" and "Guineas" sections as I hope to get information from both sources!
I have 6 peachicks, and 50 guinea keets, born on Tuesday, June 24th. (10 days old now, today, 7/4). I have everyone in brooders right now, but soon will need to put the keets out in the coop, because they get to be little hellions and they don't have to be brooded nearly as long as peas.
I'm going to be building a covered coop with a concrete floor so my peas can go out of the brooders before they hit four months with less risk of Cocci than being out on the dirt. Unfortunately, I can't build *two* exorbitant coops.
So, my first question is, can the peachicks live in the same environment as guinea keets? I have heard that keets carry Cocci from hatching, so will they infect my peas? Do they carry Blackhead? Will they hurt the peas, I know they can be mean little buggers. I have many years experience with the keets, but this is my first year raising the peas at the same time.
Thank you for your help!
