Hi i recently bought 2 3day old peachicks. they are india blue split to white eyed...i never had any this young before does anyone know when the start to change color....silkie owner with other poultry pals...ronnie:cd
 
I'm not sure how much it varies within each color variation, but it takes a LONG time for peafowl to develop their "true" colors -usually several months to a year or more (unless you're intimately familiar with peafowl sexing and coloration, of course). There is lots of good information online, good luck!

In pure Indian blue you can tell sex by the flight feathers, males will have a burnt seannia red and females will be more of a dark brown. They will not fully develope their color until 1 to 2 years of age, but will start losing the brown tones 6months to a year old.
