Peacock 30+ ft in tree...?

I really want to see them in the wild, it must be something. My art teacher goes to India a lot, and is taking a bunch of art students to India for a week this summer. She is going to bring back some feathers and pictures for me since she knows I am into peafowl. I really wish I could go but I am not allowed.

I love how they just glide and don't really have to flap.

Andy I love that video too, when I first saw it I wished I could go there and see that in person! If only we lived next to a big hill and the peafowl pen was at the very top...

I love the white ones flying, it looks so amazing!

Only 30 feet? Must have been sick.

Just kidding.

Mine will fly all the way to the tip of the chimney which is on a three story plantation home - so it's HIGH. They roost in the very tip tops of 100+ year old trees. And when they come swooping down, cawing all the way, you'd better duck our get out of the way. It is an amazing sight. Just like in that video - which was really cool since I never see mine fly very far.

All six of mine (three males/three females) have been total free range since they were only 8 weeks old so they behave just as they would in "the wild" but are very tame and hang out in our backyard all day and anywhere on the farm where something is being fed and they take the food. The peacocks rule the roost around here. Even our BIG dogs sit back and let the peas eat their food.
