I am so happy he's better!Hi Casportpony
Your advice was wonderful and spot on. We did three days injectible Enro (plus B complex and antihistamine) and he is looking very sparky; almost no open mouth breathing and eating well. Also out and about foraging as usual. Phew. I am beyond grateful! The best Christmas gift possible to have my feathered friend back on form. Thank you, thank you for your quick and highly educated responses to my SOS especially as I was in such a clueless panic.
We are keeping him on five days of soluble Hipralona (Enro) in his drinking water just to be sure we have knocked that infection out for good.
I hope you had a wonderful festive holiday with your feathered friends. GRATEFUL THANKS AGAIN.
Can you give the enrofloxacin orally instead of in the water?Oh dear, the gasping has returned to some extent. He is still on the Enro solution in his water but maybe the Antihistamine disguised the symptoms. Wondering if he is allergic to something. We have just changed his bedding from wood shavings to straw...and of course he has another three days on the Enro in his water...on the up side, he is eating quite well but doesn't seem very strong in that he absolutely can't fly. Any more thoughts?
