Peacock in the hood.....

So yesterday this guy was wandering around the neighborhood. At dusk yesterday he went to roost in a tree I. A swampy area of our property. No one I. The hood knows who he belongs to. Can they surveying their own? If he is still around when I get home should I try to catch him? How far can they fly?

Peafowl can fly really well but I don't know how far they would fly. I've seen mine fly hundreds of yards. It is spring and he has probably escaped from his home and is looking for a mate.

No need to catch him ... feed him ... and he will stay!
But do neighbors like a noisy peacock that stays in the neighborhood?

I haven't seen him again. So i'm guessing he wound up continuing his search for a mate. There are 7 houses on our road..... the folks that had our place before us kept peacocks. They are all used to the noise I think. Not to say they would relish having it back!
