@yoda, why does it bother you that I weigh my birds? I think many have found it to be helpful.

We can go round and round about ivermectin and I can keep telling people that I have tried it all different ways and lice have not been affected by it at all and people like you and others will say that it works.

The Avian vet suggested frontline Vectra 3d, so that's what we did and it worked for *lice*. Ivermectin will not treat lice.

Oops, error! It was Vectra 3D she suggested, not frontline, but some people do use frontline on their chickens.

Ok first in posts 44, 56, 60, 63 and 66 she states using frontline and in the last post 66 she does not state her Vet told her to use it. Frontline doesn't come in a spray as far as I know. Second if you search this forum and someone asks about mites and lice they are told by the oldtime breeders to use Ivermectin, it works cause I got a bird in the mail that had lice and it got rid of them. Third you weighing your birds doesn't bother me, what I do not understand is why you still have to after all this time? It's funny YOU state that it doesn't work but if you type "Ivermectin chicken lice" in a search engine all the pages say it is a safe and easy way to get rid of chicken/poultry lice. So the entire world wide web is wrong and only you are correct.

Maybe other people don't know how much a chick should weigh at a certain age and the pictures I post can serve as a guide. You seem to be the *only* one that objects to them.

Frontline *does* come as a spray and floks in the Nor Cal thread swear by it. Need to add that to my list of things to try.

Hey guys, all I know is we all have our own way of doing things and some of us treat birds differently than others. What I am proud to say though is that while we all have different ways of treating our peafowl, we don't starve them or ignore them if they fall ill.

Each of us has to find the methods we like best. It is like bug spray...I got some natural bug spray that didn't work at all. I got a different kind of spray I think it is off deep woods and it works wonders! Maybe someone else out there finds that the natural bug spray works better. Of course, don't use bug spray on your birds...I am NOT leading into that.
