i bought an adult emerald male last year, seller told me that he is 4 years old, in start of this season i shifted him in a pen with a mature hen but never seen him displaying. all others males are displaying and mating but not this one.
he is active, healthy and have fully grown beautiful tail, seen him little bit calling sometime.
Expets any opinion why he is not displaying?

He may be nervous. Sometimes they'll see or hear you before you see them and stop fanning. When they fan they created a huge blind spot for them, so if they're nervous they will put their train down.

At one time I thought some of my peas weren't displaying all I did was set up a game camera and got thousands of pics of them showing of just in one day, they really can be nervous birds and at the sound of a twing breaking lower there train. Every bird is different some are better around us humans and some are as skittish as ringneck pheasants.
