peacock sold for food

That's not disturbing- mostly- what is infuriating is people selling full grown completely healthy peacocks to taxidermists for an ever-growing market of mini-mansion dufus credit card rich people that feel the need to have one perching in their fake home depot furnishings- it's disgusting how often people turn up at my place asking if we will sell them a pheasant or peacock for taxidermy.

No - the taxidermists just buy the bird- kill it and throw the meat away- old peafowl are really unpalatable- there is a big demand for young peafowl meat in the Asian communities- people rearing "split" ( I'm now treating that term as a breed definition in itself) peafowl by the hundreds are probably realising there's more money in selling culls for meat than for pets.

I don't think peafowls were easy to skin, as to skin the peafowls, means be careful not to spoil the plumages, with blood, gut juice, meat juice, and it may take about few hours to skin a peacock.
Meats have to be removed from bones in wings and thighs and tail stamp and head, yes brain & eyes, tongue have be removed too.
A new body made of wood, wires , newspapers have to be built and the skin have to be rubbed in borax. Fats have to be removed from shins before rubbed in borax. Train have to be wrapped in bag or newspaper so it won't get spoiled. Then sew up the stuffed birds.
Once mounted, it take least 2-3 months for peafowl skins to dry.
Worst problem is the pest insects will ruin the plumages of stuffed peafowls...carpet beetles, clothes moths.
I hope the stuffed peafowls will fell prey to carpet beetles and clothes moths.

The alive walking peafowls are much better than sorry sight of pest-eaten stuffed peafowls, with feathers eaten to shalf by pest insects.
Peafowls are too beautiful and friendly to kill or shoot.

I do not agree with idea of murdering these wonderful peafowls for tough fatless meats and for taxidermy.

sell about all type of meat

Thought I'd chime in. I have eaten peafowl before. A friend up the road breeds quite a few. She came over to get me because she can't stand killing birds. The reason she needed it offed was because it had gotten in with the hogs and got pretty messed up to the point that it was on the verge of dying from the wounds. The meat wasn't too bad but it was a yearling bird and I would not pay to eat it, it just happened to be available. I am the kind of person that can't stand wasting anything so we cooked it and ate it. The best comparison would be to pen raised ringneck, it was dark meat with a slight gamey flavor and it was slightly tough.

Like I said, I would never go out of my way to butcher a peafowl but if something happens, I hate to be wasteful.
