Peacock spurs

I was wondering if peacock spurs can be trimmed like a rooster? I have a three year old that it seems it spurs are growing straight out no curve and rubbing on its legs causing sores that scab over which he keeps breaking scabs open. Can they just be cut with a pet toe nail clippers and how much can I trim?
My oldest male will be twenty this spring and have had peafowl longer and never had this problem before.

Yes, you can treat them just as you would a rooster. You can trim, twist off, or glue beads on them.

I trim my rooster spur with the help of dog clippers trim as deep as u want and leave when blood start coming apply some Veseline and leave tjem

When I have to catch a cock with long spurs I get cut more times than not, but the best reason to trim spurs is when they are damaging themselves or the hens in the pen.
