Peacocks in neighborhood

I did not know that! That's great to know. Maybe I will keep mine till they are a little older then!

My penned peafowl only call during breeding season and rarely only during the day. My yearlings don't call at all. 2 years old is when peafowl are sexually mature.

My yearlings call almost as much as my adult males, my 2 year olds also call a lot. They all call 24 hours a day, luckily my neighbors are okay with it. They call outside of breeding season as well, if they hear a loud noise that they feel they should respond to, like every time our garbage truck pulls up and hits the air brakes. I think the fact that I have 20 males here may increase the calling somewhat, but don't count on them remaining quiet until maturity.

Mine though get locked up at night inside a barn. Then I let them out in the morning. I wonder why mine would be quiet but yours would call more often. My free range peacock calls all day but not my penned ones.
