I have a 50x50 5ft chain link enclosure for our peahen, peacock, guineas, ducks, and two dwarf Pygmy goats. I need some ideas on how to modify the enclosure so they can’t fly out (short of clipping them). Thanks!
Raise the walls significantly, or cover it. If you won't clip their wings, this is the only solution. Good luck since your peahen, peacock, guineas all can fly extremely high (as you probably already know).
50 by 50 feet huh? You willing to install some circus tent style center supports? One way I could see it working would be to sink a 4 by 4 post (probably going to need to be something like a 12 foot post sunk 3 feet into concrete in the ground) in the middle and then run wire with turnbuckles down to the 5 foot exterior all around the post. Would look like a large spider web. Then lay some netting on top of the wire and secure with zip ties.
Another method would be similar, but with multiple shorter (but still tall enough for you to walk under posts sunk in various spots in the run with wire (or wood cross beams) running between the posts with netting on top. The wire idea will be cheapest, but the wood would be the most secure/stable.
