Hi, I was wondering if my eggs are still viable despite the fact that they have been exposed to water due to very torrential rains here in Central FL. There are 7 in the nest and the hen has not started sitting yet. Is it still possible to hatch them out even though they've been exposed to water for several hours? As soon as the rain lets up, I will be bringing them in to dry them out on a towel. This same weather situation happened last year when my peahen laid and they never hatched, but it was her first year laying. Thanks in advance for the info.

I would say that they would be okay? But for best results to questions I go to deerman...he is the peacock expert for me..good luck!

They would probably still be good. I know some one who used to incubate peafowl eggs on a a frying pan set to the lowest setting, and they would role the eggs in water every day to keep the humidity up.

Now that I have never heard before!!! You'd think the chicks would burn themselves when they hatched. WOW.
