Hello!
What is the normal size for a peacock inclosure? My uncle will be getting some soon but he's very unsure on how big their inclosure should be and what they need.
So please give suggestions on inclosure, enrichment, toys and other stuff we should know!

(Sorry for any spelling mistakes)

In the stickies topics is an entire thread that will give you lots of information on pen building. The short of it is to provide at least 150 sf per bird or bigger if you can afford it. I figure if I have to mow it, it is big enough. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/peafowl-102-advanced-housing-and-accessories.394024/page-2

Yes, I would also recommend that sticky. It contains a lot of essential information.

As well as plenty of space, they also need plenty of height and high roosts. The type of shelter depends on your climate.

In terms of enrichment, I would recommend plenty of roosts outside as well as in their shelter. As well as some regular timber roosts, mine have lots of tree branches at various heights and angles to provide a more natural look and variety. I doubt they care what the roosts look like but it makes me happy to see them enjoying them.

We get a lot of rain here so I put some small shelters out in the aviary so they can choose to shelter outside if they don't feel like going inside their sheds. Because of that, I've learned that they actually love a high up shelf or platform just as much as a roost because on the sunny days, they like to sprawl out sunbathing on the shelter roofs.

I've never provided toys so I don't know about that but I doubt they need them. If you can provide some natural vegetation and forage for them, that would be the best enrichment in my opinion.

That is such a great idea. I'm always so impressed with your set up! I'm going to add that to my wish list for aviary improvements.
Here is a detail pic of the stud saddles, no need to screw the roosts, just slide them in and out for the season. The lower position is about three to four feet and the upper one is just above head level so I don't bang my head on the roost.
