Not sure if anyone mentioned on that thread (I didn't read it all) but the feathers that they shed are great for craft projects and if you have a local farmers market, you may find some people who want to buy the feathers also. But they're gorgeous, elegant, and personable, why not own some?

(we just got our first peafowl in May of this year, so we're still REALLY new to them, but we're enjoying them a lot!)

Other than the eye appeal of them they are good "watch dogs" for the other birds. Peafowl don't miss much and the other birds learn their alarm call fast. From the sale of eggs and pea chicks ours pretty much pay for themselves.
