That's been my experience too but I wish I could catch her before she gets worse

There have been a few times where I ignored those that looked a little off and later regretted it.

Yeah me too. But this time I dont have much choice. Shes small and fast and savvy and she can fly. If it was our other hen...much easier. But tonight Snap is roosting high...I cant reach her.. so, so much for that idea too.

She could also have a disease like coccidiosis or however u spell it it spells doom unless treated soon, get some pics of her and her poop and post it up fast, if she is sick you will have to give her the meds by mouth for 5 days to cure her, catch her and pen her up fast. Get a cast net if you have to or the best is to catch her at nite on her roost if possible using a flash light to blind her then toss a blanket over her

Try putting up mirrors inside your trap area to lure her in, try bread they love bread

She is much better today!! She is walking and standing normally, and she raided the catfood bag this morning! Still not eating quite as well as I think she should, but I think she will probably be OK. I'd been giving her high test vitamins in the water, extra grit mixed in the feed, and watermelon, in hopes that the watermelon would at least give her a little more juice in her crop..so whether any of that worked or not, I don't know. But thank you all for your support.

At this point, she's acting totally normal..Thankfully! I can't tell her poop from anyone elses, she free ranges. . I'm sure she does not have Coccidiosis though.

These birds poop frequently , a cup of coffee and a few minutes walking patiently behind your bird is all it takes to be sure.
