Peahen dead of what??

I had a almost 2 year old peahen die today. She had been sick (I can tell),for a few weeks. She walked with her wings hanging down, eyes half open. I checked her over after I found her dead and she had this "growth" in her mouth??? I'm afraid my two males will get this what ever it is. Anyone know what this could be? Thanks for the help.

So sorry about your girl.

Our peapeople will have experienced opinions to offer, but in the meantime you might send your poor girl for a necropsy to determine her COD.
This is likely the best way to protect your peaboys, and of course, take them to see a vet ASAP if they are showing any of the same symptoms!

Could it be Canker? Also known as trichinamoniasis I believe, or thrush a fungal infection. Trich
Is spreadable.

Thanks for the help. I'll look into it father but so far it looks like the suggestions. I can't have her checked because I have already disposed of her body to help stop any infection from spreading to my 2 males. They look fine so far but I will be keeping a close eye on them and go from there.
