I have noticed my peahen, whose four months old now, is eating kind of strange. She is pecking exacly where the older ones peck (older by 3 months) sometimes she doesnt even eat from the feeder she just pecks food off of others beak she has done that everyday (i have had her 6 weeks) is this normal? She is the youngest peafowl i have raised. Someone mentioned to me the she could have brain trama from being pecked repeatedly as a peachick, maybe at the previous owners farm. But she does eat food so its not a problem but i was just curious.

She was probably hatched and brooded by a peahen and that peahen taught her to eat from her beak. Being taken away from her momma she still wants to be fed, so she tries to take food from other birds like she did from momma. We also sometimes see chicks pecking the soft nostrils of other chicks causing them to bleed and in some severe cases. It is a natural preprogrammed instinct. She will grow out of it.
