I HAVE A PEAHEN LAYING EGGS. CAN THE HEAT LAMP I HAVE ON THEM CAUSE THIS. I NORMALLY HAVE IT ON FROM 8PM TO 8AM BUT HAVE HAD A RATHER COLD SPELL FOR THE PAST WEEK SO LAMPS HAVE BEEN ON 24 HRS FOR PAST 5 DAYS. LOWS IN THE TEENS, HIGHS IN THE 30'S. NO CHANGE IN FOOD OR SURROUNDINGS. ANY THOUGHTS. THANK YOU. (LOCATED IN N.C)

It could be the light. I think some people recommend using a dim light because I guess it is less likely to make them start to breed early.

Some people already have peahens laying eggs this year though. I guess it is just a weird year. Crack open one of the eggs to check if it is fertile. Hatching season might be early this year.

Dang, if I had white bulbs in there, I think even the males might start laying.
