Peanuts in shells

My husband, because google said it was okay, fed the chickens peanuts in shells, after I told him not to. Some of the chickens r not feeling well. Is there something we can do to help him?

Peanuts are fine treats, but the shells may be hard to digest for them

And always, with any treat, make sure they have grit available.

Thank-you for your help. My husband massaged their throats but no shells in there. Maybe having a hard time digesting.
