Pearled barely?

You might want to price check. I've heard (no practical experience) that barley sprouts best, followed by wheat and then oats. I don't know if true or not and see probably an equal distribution of folks doing all three successfully.

Yeah I just looked online at tractor supply an a 50lb bag is $11 something so that's do able I have a flock of 13 right now an 3 baby chick's. Im assuming chicks can eat this as well?

Yes, but in moderation for all. There's a weight chart out there somewhere that show's recommended amounts of fodder per chicken by weight. Of course when I want it, I can't find it.

Yeah I watched a video of a chick doing it an she gives it to her chickens N rabbits.an I know the cut of a square shaped piece is about 2iches wide an long an its a pound I have a scale to weigh it. An the pearled barley actually has started to sprout since yesterday so im just going to keep at it. An the bag was a pound

Pearled barley will not sprout, unless there is the rare seed that has not had all of the germ removed. Occasionally, I will find a single seed in a whole bag that is intact enough to sprout. Barley is my favorite grain to sprout for the flock, next to that is wheat. Other faves: millet, BOSS, lentils (I love those for myself) and deer fodder mix. I like the mixed brassicas. I love barley in soup. Always try to keep a couple pounds of pearled barley on hand for soup of any kind.

Well it did start to sprout but than molded and i threw it tomorrow. Im going to the feedstore tomorrow so ill just pick up oats for fodder. Thanm you everyone
